The Down and Dirty //
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jon graduated with a BFA in Graphic Design from Brigham Young University. While attending school he worked as a designer for the BYU Department of Visual Arts where he developed a new branding system for the department that both pleased the faculty and caused freshmen to pee their pants.
Jon kicked off his design career as an intern with New York's strategic design, branding, and marketing studio, The Moderns. He worked on projects ranging from web-design and motion to print-design and environmental graphics for clients such as WorldTV, Patcraft, and Harter. Thanks to a trusting creative director (and Jon's disarming swagger), Jon was also given the opportunity to shoulder a variety of other responsibilities including traveling to client meetings in Atlanta and Chicago and attending NeoCon 2007.
As a freelance designer, Jon has done work for high profile clients including MAC Cosmetics, Flameshovel Records, and BYU Broadcasting, as well as smaller start-ups such as Provo Bike Collective and Stripes.
Jon's work has been featured in Creative Quarterly, BYU's Annual Student Show, other self-initiated exhibits and most recently in Steven Heller's new book, Design School Confidential.
When Jon isn't busy designing, he is likely to be found behind his drumset, alphabetizing his dvd collection, or sopping up malai kofta at a local Indian restaurant. Or maybe just playing nertz with his wife.
Jon lives in Southern California.
